House of Boriken was founded by Natalie, a registered nurse  from Puerto Rico with a deep passion for community empowerment, advocacy, and service. Inspired by the history, resilience, and cultural identity of Puerto Rican communities, Natalie was especially moved after reading War Against All Puerto Ricans and learning about the life and legacy of Pedro Albizu Campos, whose fight for dignity, justice, and self-determination sparked the vision behind House of Boriken.

Her experiences working as a substitute school teacher in low-income communities throughout New Jersey further strengthened her commitment to helping underserved families and children facing barriers related to poverty, education, healthcare access, and instability. Witnessing these challenges firsthand inspired her to create an organization focused on providing support, opportunity, and hope to vulnerable populations.

What began as a vision rooted in cultural pride, compassion, and community advocacy has grown into House of Boriken — a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Hispanic families, immigrants, youth, and survivors through education, outreach, wellness initiatives, and community support programs.
